3 Sabah districts hit by floods, 418 evacuated

PETALING JAYA: Floods have hit the Kota Marudu, Paitan and Pitas districts in Sabah, forcing a total of 418 people to evacuate their homes as of 4:20pm.

Disaster declarations were made by the respective district disaster management committees between 10am and 2pm.

According to the national disaster command centre portal, 398 people in Kota Marudu were evacuated to a relief centre, while 10 each in Paitan and Pitas have been relocated to shelters.

Bernama reported that the respective disaster management committees are still updating the figures.

In Kuching, Sarawak, 38 people are still housed in a relief centre due to floods.
