PETALING JAYA: Ramadan is a time for reflection, gratitude, and gathering around the table. This year, Hilton Petaling Jaya invites diners to share in the spirit of togetherness at Paya Serai.
Designed with communal dining in mind, the Ramadan experience encourages families, friends and colleagues to break fast together while exploring live stations and dishes made for sharing.
The buffet brings together beloved local classics alongside a selection of Middle Eastern specialities, creating a spread that is both comforting and adventurous.
Among the highlights are aromatic favourites such as chicken shawarma, lamb shish kebab served with Lebanese bread, and Iskender kebab, alongside creamy hummus, baba ganoush, and refreshing fattoush.
For a sweet ending, diners can enjoy flaky baklava, traditional Turkish coffee, and the playful spectacle of dondurma, the famously stretchy Turkish ice cream.
Malaysian staples anchor the buffet with familiar Ramadan comforts. Look out for the kambing madu guling, slow-roasted until tender and glazed with sweet honeyed notes, as well as BBQ short rib with dendeng sauce and sup tulang kambing simmered with warming spices.
Seafood lovers will appreciate the hearty mee rebus udang galah, while heritage-style dishes like ikan asam pedas and kawah lemak cili padi podeh add a nostalgic kampung touch.
Dessert brings its own delights, from traditional kuih such as badak berendam to a crowd favourite: fresh durian served from 8.30pm onwards.
