KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Harapan is picking up momentum after a week of campaigning for the Sabah polls thanks to early preparations in focus areas, Sabah PKR chairman Mustapha Sakmud said.

He said the PH election teams had been active for the past three to four months, working to ensure each candidate is fully prepared at the grassroots level.

“The truth is we have been campaigning for more than a week. I think three, four months ago we have already mobilised in our focussed constituencies,” he said after launching the PH manifesto.

“This week, in terms of campaigning, from the reports we receive, we are getting better, the performance of our candidates is improving.”

Present at the manifesto launch were Sabah DAP chairman Phoong Jin Zhe and Sabah Amanah leader Lahirul Latigu.

Mustapha said PH hopes to win over undecided voters through explanations of the coalition’s manifesto.

“We ask that they study the commitments and hope they will give PH candidates a chance, for them to be their representatives at the state assembly and also as part of the state Cabinet, for us to shape policies that we’ve outlined,” he said.

PH is contesting 21 of the 73 state assembly seats, PKR 12, DAP eight, and Amanah one seat. Sabah voters will cast their ballots on Nov 29.
