PETALING JAYA: Petronas has appointed outgoing Kuala Lumpur mayor Maimunah Sharif as its new property adviser effective Nov 17.
In her new role, Maimunah will guide the national oil company in shaping the next phase of growth for its property portfolio, particularly involving the Sungai Besi land, Kota Madani, and other development projects.
In a statement, Petronas described Maimunah as a globally respected leader and accredited technocrat with more than 40 years of experience in sustainable urban development.
“Petronas is confident that Maimunah’s vast experience and expertise will add significant value to the company’s future development initiatives,” it said.
The appointment came on the heels of a statement by chief secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar announcing the end of Maimunah’s term as Kuala Lumpur mayor.
