FORMER Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has voiced concern over his son’s recent health problems, which emerged after an attack involving his family at a Putrajaya shopping mall on August 13.

He said his son had shown worrying symptoms but declined to link them directly to the incident, preferring to let doctors determine the cause.

“There have been some health issues lately, but I don’t want to immediately connect them to that incident. Let the doctors run their tests and decide,” he said.

Rafizi added that he has yet to receive any official updates from the authorities regarding the investigation. “I am still giving space to PDRM, but there will come a time when I have to ask. It’s been quite a while without any progress, and there’s still no report,” he said.

He noted that all information so far has come through media reports, including the status of chemical tests related to his son.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar earlier confirmed that six individuals, including Rafizi and his wife, had given statements. CCTV footage from the scene is being reviewed.

The case is investigated under several provisions of the Penal Code and the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. —Nov 2, 2025
