MOUNTING pressure is bearing down on Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin following the sacking of Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and the suspension of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
Sixteen Bersatu Members of Parliament have written to Muhyiddin Yassin, expressing concern over recent disciplinary actions that they described as unwise and disruptive to the coalition’s unity.
The 16 MPs are listed below:
Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Indera Mahkota)
Mejar Jeneral (B) Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor (Ketereh)
Islahuddin Abas (Mersing)
Fathul Huzir Ayob (Gerik)
Datuk Wira Dr Ku Abdul Rahman Ku Ismail (Kubang Pasu)
Datuk Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah)
Abdul Khalib Abdullah (Rompin)
Komander (B) Nordin Ahmad Ismail (Lumut)
Zakri Hassan (Kangar)
Rosol Wahid (Hulu Terengganu)
Muslimin Yahya (Sungai Besar)
Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (Masjid Tanah)
Roslan Hashim (Kulim Bandar Baharu)
Kapten (B) Azahari Hasan (Padang Rengas)
Kalam Salan (Sabak Bernam)
Nazri Abu Hassan (Merbok)
In a letter dated Oct 23, the MPs protested the sacking of Wan Saiful and the suspension of Wan Ahmad Fayhsal.
The MPs, led by Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah who confirmed submitting the letter to Muhyiddin, also voiced objection to the illogical decision to summon the party’s deputy president, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, before the disciplinary board.
They say the move is damaging to PN’s credibility ahead of its alternative budget presentation.
Saifuddin, who is also the Indera Mahkota MP, indicated that Muhyiddin said the Bersatu’s disciplinary board’s decision was consistent with the party’s constitution and that he had never interfered.
“I said the letter was about Bersatu MPs conveying their concerns, not an appeal on behalf of the three MPs (Hamzah, Wan Saiful, and Wan Ahmad Fayhsal),” Saifuddin said.
“Sixteen MPs are in solidarity with the three MPs involved with the disciplinary board. So, that makes 19 MPs,” he added.—Nov 2, 2025
