GEORGE TOWN: UMNO members must uphold unity and loyalty to the party as it prepares for the 16th general election (GE16), which will shape Malaysia’s political future.
UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin emphasised that these values are crucial in revitalising the party to regain its former strength.
“We need to ensure we are always in a situation to maintain unity and the welfare of our party,“ he said while officiating the Bukit Gelugor UMNO Division delegates’ meeting.
He added that UMNO must acknowledge the reality that no party can dominate alone, requiring strong support from Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition partners.
KOTA TINGGI: UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid warned against complacency, urging members to work hard to retain seats won in the last election and reclaim lost ones.
“Victory doesn’t come from false hope, it needs effort and strategy,“ he said at the Pengerang UMNO Division meeting.
Mahdzir also cautioned members against fake news and slander, stressing the need to rely on facts.
He highlighted the spread of false narratives as a major challenge undermining public trust in UMNO leadership. – Bernama
