PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s number one men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia has won the Thailand Open title after beating Hong Kong’s Angus Ng Ka Long 21-11, 21-10 in the final in straight sets.

His victory at Nimibutr Stadium saw the sixth-seeded world No. 10 easily take down Angus 21-11 in the first set.

Sinar Harian reported that Zii Jia stormed through the second set, seizing victory 21-10 in 34 minutes as Angus apparently lost momentum.

This marks Zii Jia’s first tournament win for 2024 and second Thailand Open win after the 2022 edition title.

The last time he won an international title was at the Arctic Open in Finland Oct 15 last year, where he beat fellow Malaysian and world No. 19 Ng Tze Yong 21-14, 21-15.
