PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested three men, aged 39 to 45, believed to have been involved in a rioting incident at Jalan Waja, Telok Panglima Garang, Kuala Langat, Selangor, yesterday evening.
Acting Kuala Langat police chief Sufian Amin said preliminary investigations found the incident was sparked by a dispute between motorcyclists.
He said a 38-year-old man filed a police report yesterday. The man said he heard a noise outside his house and went out to find his 45-year-old uncle holding a parang while several men attempted to attack him.
“The complainant immediately called the police. However, all the suspects fled before officers arrived. Following investigations, police arrested the three men and seized several items,” Bernama reported Sufian as saying.
Sufian said the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with deadly weapons, and efforts are ongoing to find the other suspects.
A video of the incident went viral on social media.
