KUALA LUMPUR: A ban on goods and logistics vehicles during the Aidilfitri festive season will take effect on March 19 and 20, as well as March 28 and 29.
The transport ministry said the measure aims to ensure smoother traffic flow, reduce accident risks and provide a safer, more comfortable journey for road users.
“The ban is implemented to balance traffic flow with critical operations.
“The public is encouraged to plan their journeys carefully and comply with road safety regulations,” the ministry said in a Facebook post.
In a separate Facebook post, the ministry said certain heavy vehicles will be allowed to operate within specific times on the affected dates.
Container and cargo lorries may operate from 8am to 8pm.
Construction vehicles are permitted from 6am to 6pm within a 25km radius of the related construction site.
Exemptions are also given to critical services, including emergency operations, transport from ports and airports, and the delivery of essential goods.
