PETALING JAYA: Unseeded Malaysian men’s doubles pair Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing saw their winning streak in the Swiss Open come to an end after losing in straight games in the quarter-finals today.

Aaron-Khai Xing lost 19-21, 15-21 to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard, the world No 24 pair who are just three ranks ahead of the Malaysians.

Aaron-Khai Xing had started their Swiss Open campaign in Basel with a stunning victory over Indonesia’s Muhammad Rian Ardianto-Rahmat Hidayat in straight games on Tuesday.

Their streak continued as they defeated another Indonesian duo, Leo Rolly Carnando-Bagas Maulana, in three games yesterday.

This came off the back of their All England stunner last week when they beat India’s world No 4 pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in the opening round.
