PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will summon former economy minister Rafizi Ramli to assist in its investigation into a RM1.1 billion agreement between the government and a foreign firm.

When asked to comment on the probe involving Rafizi, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said 12 witnesses from various government agencies have been summoned, including the former minister.

He added that the other officials included top officers in the economy ministry, the investment, trade and industry ministry, and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida).

“I don’t want to say the name, but a former minister has been summoned to give his statement,” he told a press conference here.
