PETALING JAYA: SMK Jitra students sitting for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in Jitra, Kedah, were forced to take their examination at another school this morning after floodwaters rose.

Invigilators later decided to move 17 students taking the Pendidikan Seni Visual examination at 11.45am to SMK Tanjung Pauh.
“We were concerned the floodwaters would rise further. The students were moved to ensure their examination proceeded smoothly,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Rahim said his department was continuing to monitor the situation and will move students again to another school if matters worsen.
The students were moved with the aid of several police lorries from the Kubang Pasu police headquarters.
Guardians and parents later also sent their children to SMK Bandar Baru Darulaman for their Bahasa Melayu Kertas 2 examination.
In a statement later, the Kedah education department said SMK Jitra has 163 SPM candidates, including private candidates.
It said SMK Bandar Baru Darulaman had already been designated earlier as an alternative examination centre and the transfer of students went smoothly without any further incidents.
