BELOW are excerpts of viewpoints from two selected research houses on what investors can expect in the day ahead:
Berjaya Research
Sentiment on the local bourse is likely to remain cautious as attention turns toward the upcoming release of the US inflation data which will offer some guidance on the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy trajectory.
The outcome of the data is expected to shape global risk appetite and influence capital flows across emerging markets, including Malaysia.
A softer inflation reading may boost expectations of another rate cut and could lend support to regional currencies and spur renewed foreign interest in Bursa Malaysia as market players await for the release of Malaysia’s 3Q 2025 GDP (gross domestic product) performance tomorrow.
From a technical perspective, the FBM KLCI has formed a bearish candlestick, suggesting a potential near-term consolidation but downsides may be cushioned by the return of foreign funds following recent appreciation of the ringgit against the greenback.
The immediate resistance is identified at 1,638 points, followed by 1,650 points while support levels are situated at 1,622 points and 1,615 points respectively.
Malacca Securities Research
Optimism on the US government shutdown ending could have a spill-over effect on the local bourse.
Moreover, we anticipate resilient buying interest in local technology stocks with a key focus on high-momentum names such as Kelington Group Bhd, ViTrox Corp Bhd and Frontken Corp Bhd; the latter is showing signs of earnings recovery.
We also view Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd as a highly compelling stock which offers robust growth prospects ahead.
Notably, the company maintains above-average margins because a large portion of its projects involves handling a significant share of mechanical and electrical works in-house, thus providing better cost efficiency for the group compared to subcontracting.
Despite the FBM KLCI index closed in negative territory, the technical indicators are showing a positive signal; the MACD histogram is in the positive territory while the RSI is above 50.
Resistance is anticipated around 1,647-1,651 while support is located at 1,611-1,616. – Nov 13, 2025
