PETALING JAYA: A teacher linked to a religious school under Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) was sentenced to a 10-year jail term for abusing several boys under his care.
The accused, Muhammad Barur Hisham pled guilty to the four charges, meted out to him by Klang Sessions Court judge Noridah Adam, the New Straits Times reported.
“I understand the charges. I plead guilty,“ the Jawi teacher was quoted as saying.

The 23-year-old was charged with hitting three pupils with a cane and kneeing another student back in June, July and earlier this month.
The charges are framed under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
The court also imposed a five-year good behaviour bond with a RM10,000 surety.
Police initiated an investigation on Sept 16 after receiving a one-minute and nine second viral video showing a boy in pain after the suspect kneed him on the chest and neck.

The boy was located among the victims rescued during Op Global, revealed to have been separated from his father since 2021.
To date, 572 children and teenagers were rescued during Op Global, ongoing since Sept 11.
They were suspected to have suffered abuse and exploitation at the hands of their caretakers linked to GISBH.
