18 pusat mengundi PRK KKB dibuka 8 pagi ini

HULU SELANGOR: Sebanyak 18 pusat pengundian dengan 74 tempat mengundi atau saluran bagi Pilihan Raya Kecil (PRK) Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) dibuka serentak pada 8 pagi ini.

Kesemua pusat mengundi berkenaan dibuka sehingga 6 petang kecuali pusat mengundi di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Bukit Fraser yang mempunyai 40 pengundi, akan ditutup pada 2 petang.

Proses pengundian hari ini melibatkan 39,269 pengundi yang akan menunaikan tanggungjawab mereka bagi memilih wakil rakyat baharu kawasan itu.

Penjumlahan undi pula akan berlangsung di Pusat Penjumlahan Rasmi Undi iaitu di Dewan Serbaguna dan Kompleks Sukan Daerah Hulu Selangor di sini dan keputusan rasmi dijangka diumumkan pada 10 malam.

Perjalanan proses pengundian dikendalikan 760 petugas Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) selain 1,133 pegawai dan anggota polis yang ditugaskan pada hari mengundi.

Pada Selasa lepas, 97 peratus atau 769 anggota polis, tentera dan pasangan masing-masing telah menunaikan tanggungjawab sebagai pengundi awal di dua pusat mengundi awal iaitu di Rejimen Semboyan Divisyen Ke-4 Infantri, Kem Erskine dan Dewan Serbaguna Maktab Polis Diraja Malaysia, yang mempunyai tiga tempat mengundi atau saluran.

PRK itu menyaksikan pertandingan empat penjuru membabitkan Pang Sock Tao (Pakatan Harapan), Khairul Azhari Saut (Perikatan Nasional), Hafizah Zainuddin (Parti Rakyat Malaysia) dan Nyau Ke Xin (Bebas).

Kesemua calon bagaimanapun tidak turun mengundi kerana merupakan pengundi luar.

Pilihan raya kecil itu diadakan susulan kematian penyandangnya Lee Kee Hiong, 58, pada 21 Mac lepas akibat kanser.

Pada Pilihan Raya Negeri Ogos tahun lepas, Lee menewaskan tiga pencabarnya daripada Perikatan Nasional, Parti Rakyat Malaysia dan Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (Muda) dengan meraih majoriti 4,119 undi.
