MELAKA: Sebuah kapal tanker ditahan Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (Maritim) Negeri Melaka dan Negeri Sembilan kerana berlabuh tanpa kebenaran di Tanjong Dahan semalam.
Pengarah Maritim negeri Kepten Maritim Mohd Khairi Abd Aziz berkata kapal berkenaan ditahan pada 11.30 pagi semalam selepas Sistem Pengawasan Laut (SWASLA) mengesan kapal berkenaan di kedudukan 7.5 batu nautika barat daya Tanjong Dahan.
“Bot Ronda Maritim yang sedang membuat rondaan Op Murni/ Op Tiris Fasa 2.0 kemudian diatur gerak ke lokasi dan berjaya mengesan kapal yang dilaporkan.
“Pemeriksaan ke atas kapal yang berdaftar di Limbe, Cameroon itu mendapati ia dikendalikan oleh enam kru termasuk kapten kapal yang kesemuanya warga Iran berumur lingkungan 37 hingga 70 tahun,“ katanya dalam satu kenyataan di sini hari ini.
Mohd Khairi berkata pemeriksaan lanjut ke atas kapal yang dalam pelayaran dari Jepun ke Dubai itu turut mendapati ia tidak mempunyai dokumen insurans kapal.
Beliau berkata kapten kapal berkenaan turut dibawa ke pejabat Maritim Melaka dan Negeri Sembilan bagi membantu siasatan kerana disyaki melakukan kesalahan di bawah Ordinan Perkapalan Saudagar (MSO) 1952 iaitu berlabuh tanpa kebenaran Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Laut Malaysia dan tidak mempunyai dokumen insurans kapal.
