12 Rolex watches seized during the Sabah Water Dept corruption trial

KOTA KINABALU: In the Special Corruption court heard yesterday (Oct 25), 12 Rolex watches were among some of the valuable items that were seized from the former Sabah Water Department director Ag Mohd Tahir Mohd Talib, according to New Straits Times.

Facing trial are ex-Sabah Water Department director Ag Mohd Tahir, 59, his wife Fauziah Piut, 57, and former deputy director Lim Lam Beng, 66.

According to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Assistant Investigation Officer Ekasuziena Shafri, 36, one of the luxury pieces was meant for women.

During the hearing of Sabah’s largest corruption scandal, Ekasuzieana, testifying before Judge Abu Bakar Manat, confirmed that the 12 Rolex watches were part of a list of seized luxury wristwatches dated October 4, 2016, which she had compiled at the Sabah MACC office.

In addition to the 12 Rolex watches, the list of seized luxury wristwatches also included five Audemars Piguet, one Roger Dubuid, two Jaeger-LeCoultre, one Chronoswiss, one Franck Muller, three Cartier, one Ulysse Nardin, three Patek Philippe, and two Corum watches.
