Terengganu police questions businessman for allegedly flying Israeli flag

KUALA LUMPUR: A businessman who was accused of flying an Israeli flag at a shophouse in Marang, Terengganu, yesterday has reportedly given his statement to the police.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, according to Malay Mail, Terengganu police chief Datuk Mazli Mazlan stated that the suspect has a history of mental illness and that the investigators have already recorded the suspect’s statement.

It was also discovered that the 30-year-old suspect had prior criminal records connected to drug-related offences.

Moreover, Terengganu police chief Datuk Mazli Mazlan cited in the Malay daily saying, “Police are undertaking a detailed investigation on the issue and identifying the proper section that will be applied to the case.”

The top law enforcement official in the state provided an update on the investigations into two images that were later widely shared on social media yesterday night, depicting a Terengganu business outlet flying the white and blue Israeli flag.

It was said to belong to an automotive tinting shop located at Padang Lebam in Bukit Payong, Marang.
