Banjir kilat: 433 mangsa ditempatkan dI PPS Kampung Chinggong

IPOH: Seramai 433 penduduk Kampung Chinggong di Behrang, Tanjung Malim, ditempatkan ke pusat pemindahan sementara (PPS) sehingga jam 10 jam ini berikutan hujan lebat lebih dua jam lewat petang tadi menyebabkan banjir kilat di kampung berkenaan.

Jurucakap Sekretariat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Bencana Daerah Muallim, Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM), berkata kesemua mangsa melibatkan 85 keluarga dari kampung itu ditempatkan di PPS Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Chinggong mulai jam 7.30 malam tadi.

“Berlakunya hujan berterusan selama lebih dua jam petang tadi menyebabkan air di Sungai Behrang melimpah ke kawasan rumah berhampiran.

“Walaupun air telah surut sepenuhnya namun Tok Batin kampung berkenaan telah meminta supaya PPS dibuka berikutan keadaan rumah yang dimasuki air dan tidak boleh diduduki,“ katanya, dalam kenyataan, malam tadi.

Jurucakap itu memaklumkan mangsa terdiri daripada 118 kanak-kanak lelaki, kanak-kanak perempuan (40); lelaki dewasa (139); wanita dewasa (130) termasuk enam mangsa Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) iaitu masing-masing tiga lelaki dan wanita.

Menurutnya, pihak APM akan mengemas kini laporan mengenai situasi mangsa yang ditempatkan di PPS berkenaan dari semasa ke semasa. – Bernama
